Federal Tax Deposit (TT&L) coupons
The U.S. Treasury Department has announced that it will no longer accept paper Federal Tax Deposit (TT&L) coupons. As a result, Old Point will stop accepting these coupons for Treasury Department payments effective November 30, 2010.
By now you should have received information about the Electronic Federal Tax Payment System (EFTPS) from the Treasury Department. Once you are enrolled in this free service, you have several options for making your periodic payments:
-
Sign up for Old Point’s Online Small Business Service. This service offers you many benefits, including online bill payment, the ability to transfer between accounts, full access to check images, and more! In addition, you may make your online payments to the Treasury quickly and easily. All these services are available for just $15 per month. This low fee may even be offset by your account balances.
-
Arrange to send your TT&L payments by wire – you may arrange to wire the funds on the day they are due for only $20 per wire. The wire fee may be offset by your account balances.
-
Use EFTPS. This free service, offered by the IRS, allows you to make your Treasury payments by phone or over the internet. You may enroll online by visiting www.eftps.gov. For more information, please call EFTPS Customer Service, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, at 1-800-316-6541 (personal accounts) or 1-800-555-4477 (business accounts.)
