Neighborhood Night Out
Aug. 1st, 4pm-7pm, Hampton Roads Convention Center, Hampton
Hampton law enforcement agencies will provide child identification kits and have vehicles on display. The day will also feature inflatables, a rock climbing wall and area businesses providing information related to health and safety.
Movies at Millpoint
Aug. 3rd – Aug. 31st (Thursdays), 7pm, Mill Point Park, Hampton
Bring your chairs and blankets for family-friendly movies in the park!
Jamestown Jams
Aug. 4th, 6pm-8pm, Jamestown Beach Event Park, Williamsburg
Come and enjoy free live music from the 80's, featuring The Deloreans. Concert entrance opens at 5:30pm and parking will be behind the old Jamestown Campground building at 2205 Jamestown Road.
Military Band Concert Series
Aug. 8th – Aug. 29th (Tuesdays), 6:30pm-8pm, Riverwalk Landing, Yorktown
Bring your chairs and blankets to hear a different ensemble each week presented by musicians from U.S. Fleet Forces Band, Langley AFB and Ft. Eustis, VA.
Breakfast at the Zoo
Aug. 12th, 8am-10am, Virginia Zoo, Norfolk
Enjoy breakfast at the zoo and then watch the animals eat their breakfast too! Learn interesting animal facts during this once-a-year, members-only event. Gates open at 7:30am, $15 for adults, $10 for children (4-11), FREE for 3 and under.
Khedive Auto Shriners' 26th Annual Fun-n-Shine Car Show
Aug. 19th, 10am-3pm, Khedive Shrine Center, Chesapeake
Join the Khedive Autos Shriners' for the 26th Annual Fun-n-Shine Car Show. Part of this event is the 19th Annual Craft Show inside the building with crafters, vendors and food.
Dreams and Beams Video & Laser Show
Aug. 8th, 9:30pm-10:45pm, On the Beach at 20th St., Virginia Beach
This unique, multi-media show delivers a "thank you" message to the US Navy using video and laser graphics on a projection sphere, flame towers, laser beams, and bubble machines. The show's 180-degree video projections burst with color, sound, light, music, and emotion.
