Spring Home Maintenance Don'ts

By: Old Point Bank / 24 May 2018
Spring Home Maintenance Don'ts

It's a great time of year to enjoy your home both on the inside and out. However, here is a list of what not to do as you complete your home maintenance tasks this Spring.

  • DON'T use a high-pressure hose to clean your windows. It can damage the caulking, weather-stripping, or even the glass itself.
  • DON'T let weeds or shrubs crowd your house. Prune shrubs so that they don't touch your house or foundation. Also clear away any vegetation around your air conditioning unit that could block the air flow.
  • DON'T depend on your dryer's lint trap to catch all the debris. Be sure to clean the dryer ducts and exterior vent so that the buildup will not be a fire hazard.
  • DON'T plant grass seed too early. Early Fall is the best time to do so.
