After an absence of 5 years from its original location, the Hampton History Museum's popular Dockside Seafood Feast returns to the unique setting of the historic Graham & Rollins working waterfront dock in Downtown Hampton to raise funds for the museum's educational programming Saturday, May 18 starting at 6 pm. The event is special, not only the beauty of being directly on the Hampton River, located in an historic seafood processing plant, but also for serving the best seafood in region - for one night only.
The unparalleled menu includes nine different all-you-can-eat seafood entrees including fried flounder, shrimp & scallop scampi, shrimp cocktail, crab cakes, she-crab soup, blue crab claws, fried oysters, oysters on the half shell, and soft-shelled crabs along with complimentary beer, wine and Dockside Lemonade. In addition to the freshest seafood available, the evening includes a silent auction and live music.
"Besides being a great party, it is a celebration of our history and the seafood industry that helped build the city of Hampton. The money raised underwrites programming at the museum, out in the community, large events like the Mosaic Festival, original exhibits, educational program, as well as historical programs that travel around the country and beyond, through our traveling exhibits and extensive online content. The funds raised make it possible for us reach more than 1.8 million people a year." says Executive Director of Historic Assets, Luci Talbot Cochran.
